Linkedin Hack #1

In today's competitive job market, having a strong LinkedIn presence is essential for attracting the attention of recruiters. However, with so many profiles waiting for their attention, it's crucial to ensure that yours stands out from the crowd. One effective way to do this is by making your LinkedIn account private, so recruiters won't see similar profiles when they view yours.

Imagine this scenario: a recruiter is scrolling through LinkedIn, looking for potential candidates for a job opening. They come across your profile, but then they see several other profiles that are similar to yours listed under "People also viewed." With so many options to choose from, they may click on one of these similar profiles and forget about yours altogether. This can be frustrating and can significantly reduce your chances of getting noticed by recruiters.

By making your LinkedIn account private, you can avoid this scenario and ensure that your profile remains the focus of recruiters' attention. With fewer distractions, recruiters are more likely to spend time reviewing your profile and considering you for job opportunities.

Making your LinkedIn account private is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps:

  1. Go to your LinkedIn profile and click on your photo in the top right corner.

  2. Click on "Settings & Privacy."

  3. Select "Account Preferences."

  4. Click on "General Preferences."

  5. Find the option for "People also viewed," and toggle it off.

By turning off the "People also viewed" feature, recruiters won't see similar profiles when they visit yours. This ensures that your profile remains the focus of their attention and increases your chances of standing out.
